A Perth indie institution since 2006
Ruck Rover General Store opened back in 2006, and over the last two decades has become a Perth indie institution. Owned and loved by sisters Claire and Isabelle, the store stocks a wide range of small, independent labels from around the world, with a focus on ethical manufacture, and a curated selection of clothing and gifts with something for everyone.
That is Claire's own description, and the shop at 242 William Street backs it up. Print dresses and knitwear on the racks, jewellery and bags, kids' clothes and picture books, homewares, cards and stationery, most of it from designers you will not find in a chain.
One thing Claire wanted made clear: do not come in asking for the owners. Ruck Rover has three staff who know the stock inside out, and Claire reckons they are the ones worth getting to know.
